About Diwali

Diwali, the festival of lights, celebrates the victory of light over darkness. Families clean and decorate their homes, draw rangoli at the door, light rows of diyas, perform Lakshmi puja in the evening and share sweets with neighbours and friends.

A personal greeting still matters in a week full of forwarded images. This page lets you add your own name to a Diwali wish, so the people you send it to know it came from you.

When is it? Diwali usually falls in October or November, on the new moon night (Amavasya) of the Hindu month of Kartik.
