Sonakshi Sinha is an Indian actress and a former model, best known for her appearances in Bollywood films. Sinha was born on 2 June 1987 in Patna into a Bihari Kayastha family. Her father, Shatrughan Sinha is a veteran actor and politician and her mother Poonam Sinha is a homemaker. After graduation, she started working as a fashion designer for celebrities in the entertainment industry. As she was already in the film industry it was easy for her to bag movie offers. She made her acting debut in the 2010 Hindi film Dabangg, which went on to become a huge success at the box office. Her performance gained her a Filmfare award for Best Debut Actress and earned fame and popularity. The film success marked a stepping stone in her career, today, she is one of the top paid actresses in Bollywood.
Before entering into films, she worked as an usher (a person who shows people where to sit) at the Lakme Fashion Week and has been a fashion designer. During that days, she inclined towards the acting & modelling. Finally, she opted the entertainment industry as her career.
In 2010, she made her super hit debut Hindi movie ‘Dabaang’ opposite Salman Khan in which she played the role as a ‘Rajjo Pandey’. After the huge success of the movie, she earns a lot of fame and as a result, she started getting offers from the popular directors. She gave many hit movies to the Bollywood industries. Some of her popular movies are- ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Son of Sardar’, ‘Dabangg 2’, ‘Himmatwala’, ‘Bullett Raja’, etc.
