Vijay Varma was born on 29 March 1986 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He belonged from a business background in a Rajasthani family. From childhood, he wanted to be an actor. His father did a handicraft business and wanted to support his business.
After completing his schooling in Hyderabad. He did college studies in B Com his hometown only. He did many odd jobs like selling mobile plans, petrol cards. He had also worked in the call centre. But, Vijay left this job as was not interested to work for a long time.
After completing the course, he joined a theatre group in Hyderabad, India. In 2005, he was selected for two years course at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. But, his father was not happy with this decision. It was Vijay’s friend who helped him by supporting him financially to be an actor.
When Vijay Shifted for acting training in FTII, Pune. He used to watch the film and would observe the acting of the actors in the films. In 2008, he went to Mumbai after completing his acting from FTII, Pune. Here, he got an opportunity to work in Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s short Film “Shor”. Also, FTII made a short film “Flying High” in 2010. He also tried for getting a selection but was rejected for getting good offers. He would also do modelling and get Rs 500 for a modelling assignment.
After some time, the theatre director of FTII, Tom Halter noticed Vijay’s acting. Tom Halter gave his name for an English theatre play “Three shots plays”. He did play in many different cities of states. Some casting directors observed him. Due to this, he was offered his first film “Chittagong” in 2012. Then, he worked in the Bollywood film “Rangrezz” in 2013.
In 2014, Vijay Varma worked in the Bollywood film “Gang of Ghosts”. Then, he appeared in various Bollywood films such as “Pink”, “Monsoon Shootout”, “Raag Desh”. Later, He started working in the Telugu film “MCA” in 2017.
In 2018, he debuted in the Tv series “Cheers- Friends Reunion Goa”. Then, he worked in the Bollywood film “Manto”, “Gully Boy”. The Bollywood film “Gully Boy” was a turning point in his acting career. Later, he appeared in Bollywood Films such as “Super 30”, “Ghost Stories”, “Baaghi 3”, “Bamfaad”, “Yaara” and many more etc.
