Human Rights Day was came into force on December 10, 1948 when the universal declaration of Human Rights was adopted by United Nations. Every year the member states of United Nations and other countries commemorate December 10 as the ‘Human Rights Day’s and call on people to stand up for people rights.
As per the official website of UNESCO it was the first United Nation Agency to place the Universal Declaration at the heart of all its action, to promote it across the world through education and media.
This year it will be 72 anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights. On this day awareness campaign is designed to encourage, galvanise and showcase how youth all over the world stand up for rights and against racism, hate speech, bullying, discrimination and climate change to name a few.
The day is normally marked both by high level poltical conferences and meetings and by cultural events and exhibitions.
